Deciding to give DIY hair dye a try and i LOVE IT!I didn’t like my hair colour and I wanted to change it. To me it looked really discoloured and I couldn’t really stand it. I couldn’t really decide whether or not should I go to the hair salon or DIY. Normally I dye my hair at a home salon, but I was considering a change. (The home salon was really good and relatively cheap hence the indecision.) I didn’t have a good impression on Liese Bubble Dye initially, as I heard that the colour won’t stay long, and it doesn’t colour evenly. I was further discourage remembering when my friend tried using it and it looked really bad. It was uneven colouring with the crown of her head being nearly yellow, and her hair ends dark brown. It was about 2-3 years ago. I decided to give Liese a try as my fellow intern friend encouraged me. Her dye was done really nicely, just that it had come off lighter than the one described on the package. I bought 2 boxes as it suggested 1 box for shoulder length hair. |
I decided to give Liese a try as my fellow intern friend encouraged me. Her dye was done really nicely, just that it had come off lighter than the one described on the package. I bought 2 boxes as it suggested 1 box for shoulder length hair. I had decided a darker colour such that the variant after dye wouldn’t be that much as well. I bought Liese Creamy Bubble Colour – Antique Rose. On the package it’s a very dark reddish brown. I read up some reviews online, and was reassured that the product was good, and many was willing to buy it again. I began to prepare and reading all the instructions first (it was an advice on one of the blogs). It can get quite messy so be sure to layer the floor with newspaper. Just a note, I skipped the 48 Hr allergy test, which I would not suggest anyone skipping it. I was really risking it big time. But I did do the 30 mins skin test, and I was fine. The product worked ok with me, except that it stings my eyes when I used it (but I do have sensitive eyes). My initial worry of insufficient dye was thrown out of the window. Maybe it is because my hair is very little and thin I didn’t really need that much. I even had remaining dye. I did for 30 mins and this was my results! I love the colour! I had to admit that I was truly worried, but I like the results! I had to wash my hair twice, as the dye was still dropping and staining my initial shirt. Advise from my godma was that not to wear light coloured clothes for 1 – 2 days, as the dye may not be set yet. This is my hair colour after a night. It still had a bit of light brownish at the tails, making a little uneven. But it is not that obvious so it is okay. The red is really brought out when I go under the sun. Will I use/buy it again? Definitely, it has open me up to home dye, and given me a good experience. Also for $19.90 (bought in Giant, but I think I can get it cheaper elsewhere) it comes with two solutions, a pair of latex glove, and a sachet of hair treatment. It also don’t feel that damaging to the hair. My Hair is darker now, and I LOVE IT! Revised: The colour did drop further and now it is not as dark as it was. But I am not using any colour protectant shampoo so maybe that is why but oh well, I still prefer the current colour though. |
