Had a ramen lunch at Paya Lear Square, Ramen Keisuke, on one of the days when I had jap food cravings. Went there with my fellow intern/colleague, Zell. It is just a tiny little stall, that was quite popular. The queue when we got there was long. We waited easily 30 mins before we managed to get a seat. (≖_≖ )

From what I heard every single Ramen Keisuke stall is decorated differently and with a different concept. Which is really cool! They serve three types of ramen broth only. Which is original, Black Spicy Ramen and Red Spicy Ramen. They serve free flow of hard boil egg and seasoned bean sprouts (yummy…) (ɔ◔︣‿◔︣)ɔ ❤ |
I had the Black Spicy Ramen and Zell got the Red Spicy Ramen. It is so that we can try both flavours. There wasn’t really any difference. The ingredients and noodles were the same, even for the soup base (which is tonkustu I think). The only difference was the oil. The red one being chili oil, and the black one being black pepper oil.
The service was quite fast. We only got to eating one hard-boiled egg each and taking some photos when the ramen arrived.

The Black Spicy Ramen was reasonable, but I thought that the broth was a little too oily for me. Spicy level was acceptable, don’t be frighten away by the name. The smell of it was very fragrant, with a little crushed sesame seeds; it really brings out the aroma. The soft boiled egg was delicious; it wasn’t overcooked or over seasoned. I love the egg so much that I took 2 >.<!
According to Zell the Red Spicy Ramen did not taste as good. It didn’t have the same aroma or fragrance that the black pepper gave. It didn’t taste that bad in my opinion, but I do agree it wasn’t as good as the Black Spicy Ramen.

We had the green tea coke which was really unique, and it tasted really unique and refreshing. A MUST try in my opinion. The dumplings were just average. The fillings wasn't much, but the skin was really soft.
All in all, I will suggest people to go try the Black Spicy Ramen if they are going. It is quite a cozy ambience, a good place to sit and chit chat. However the one in Paya Lebar Square is a little small and cramp.
